What is an Energy Activation (Attunement)?

A Reiki attunement is a sacred energetic process that opens your system to work with Reiki energy. It’s what allows you to begin channelling this healing frequency – first for yourself, and later for others.

During the attunement, your energy system is gently aligned with the Reiki frequency. This can feel calming, emotional, energising — or very subtle. Everyone experiences it differently, and there’s no “right” way to feel.
Each attunement begins a 21-day integration period, where daily self-healing is key. This helps your body and energy field adapt to the new frequency, clear old blockages, and begin the transformation process.

An attunement is not just symbolic — it’s an actual shift in your energy. And once you receive it, the ability to work with Reiki stays with you for life.

What can I expect to feel during an energy activation?

Everyone’s experience of an energy activation is different, and that’s completely okay. Some people feel a strong flow of energy, warmth, tingling, or deep emotional release. Others feel very little during the activation itself but notice shifts in the days that follow.

What you experience depends on many factors, including your sensitivity to energy, how much energetic work you’ve done before, and what you’re currently processing emotionally or spiritually.

Even if the sensations are subtle, the activation still works. Energy is intelligent, and it moves where it’s needed – guided by your higher self. Over time, and with regular practice, your awareness of energy will naturally deepen.

The most important thing to remember? You don’t need to feel anything dramatic for the process to be real and effective.

What to Expect After an Energy Activation?

After your attunement, you may feel relaxed, tired, emotional or surprisingly energised. Your body and energy system will begin adjusting, so allow yourself extra rest, stay hydrated, and listen to what you need.

Each activation is followed by a 21-day integration period. During this time, daily self-healing (20–40 minutes) helps you stabilise the new energy, clear blocks, and deepen your connection with Reiki.

You might notice shifts in your emotions, energy levels, or dreams. This is all part of the process. Journaling can be a helpful way to track what’s unfolding.

Many people continue their self-healing practice well beyond the 21 days — not because they have to, but because it becomes a supportive and grounding part of their routine.
